FrenchBriefs

Les articles du jour arrivent…

Chaque matin, de nouveaux articles en français simple.

Built for learning without feeling like a lesson

1

News at your level

Every article is rewritten for your level, A1 to B2. Not translated word for word: rewritten, with shorter sentences and everyday vocabulary. As you improve, the level quietly moves up with you.

2

Tap any word

Stuck on a word? Tap it to see what it means and hear how it sounds. No dictionary tab, no breaking your flow.

Les scientifiques sont inquietsworried pour les poissons.

3

Le journal, in your ears

Press play and FrenchBriefs reads you the day's articles like a short radio show, with the weather for your city and a word of the day at the end.

4

Talk back (Pro)

Say what you understood, out loud. You get a friendly reply, a more natural way to say it, and at most two corrections that matter.

Questions

What level of French do I need?

Any. If you can read "Le chat est noir", start at A1. If you passed a beginner exam, try A2. You can change level any time, and FrenchBriefs nudges it up or down based on how often you tap words.

Is this a language course?

No streaks, no quizzes, no cartoon owl. It's a news app that happens to be in French you can understand. The learning happens because you read and listen every day.

Where does the news come from?

From openly licensed sources and our own short briefs, written from several reports. Every article links back to its sources. Pro members can also add sites they already read, for their own use.

Who writes the French versions?

An AI model rewrites each article at your level, following strict rules for each level. It is good, but not perfect: if something matters, check the original, which is always one tap away.

Can I cancel Pro?

Yes, any time, in two taps. You keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for, then your account goes back to Free.

What do you do with my data?

The minimum needed to run the app: your Google email and name, your settings, and your reading history. We don't sell anything or show ads. You can download or delete everything from the settings. Read the privacy policy.

Fresh briefs, every morning.
